Ingredients:-
Yam
Rice flour
Water
Garlic
Chinese sausage
Dried Shrimp
Mushroom
Seasoning:-
Oyster sauce
Salt
Sugar
Pepper
Garnish:-
Spring onion
Fresh red chillies
Fried shallot
Methods:-
- Mixed rice flour and water and add in the seasoning and set aside.
- Heat oil and sautee garlic and dried shrimp till fragrant.
- Stir in mushroom and chinese sausage and stir fried till fragrant.
- Add in the yam and stir fried awhile and add in some water to simmer for awhile.
- Add in the no.1 batter and stir well till it thicken. Remove and pour into an oiled metal container and ready to steam for 45 min or till cooked.
- Remove from container when cooled and garnished and serve.
Tips:-
- Yam has to be cut into cubes size evenly.
- Batter mixed depends on what type of texture u prefer. For soft texture, batter should be abit watery. For firm texture, batter should be thicker. Use a spoon and see the back of the spoon to gauge the texture.
- Seasoning should be stronger so that when everything mixed together, the cake steamed is flavourful.
- You can use radish, pumpkin or turnip for this recipe.
